I start my day today with Pim, who is getting ready at his parents' house. As often happens, the groom is ready very quickly, and within half an hour, I'm back in the car on my way to Renate to capture the preparations there. The next time I see Pim is during the first look, but he has no idea what awaits him there.
It's lively and cozy at Renate's. Friends are helping her get ready, and the cats are keeping everyone company. After Renate is also ready for the wedding, someone else will need to be dressed in a dress. There are big plans for the first look.
Pim's best friend has volunteered to dress up as a bride and will be the first to relieve Pim's nerves. Pim is probably wondering what his bride will look like in her beautiful dress, but his best friend in a wedding dress is definitely the last thing he expects. Pim can take a joke, but is ultimately very happy when Renate appears in her wedding dress.
We take a few quick wedding photos and I head to Oud Zuilen to wait for Pim and Renate there for their arrival at the church.
The arrival at the church in Oud Zuilen is fantastic, Pim and Renate are presented to the guests on a boat and after a short adventure to get the bride and groom safely ashore, they arrive at the church and the ceremony can begin.
It's a small church where surprisingly many people fit in, and after an intimate ceremony, everyone moves to Bistro Belle to congratulate and have drinks with the newlyweds.
After the drinks and dinner, I take Renate and Pim for a walk around the old Slot Zuylen. We deliberately chose this time so that we could take advantage of the golden hour moment, an hour before sunset, in the wedding photos. The surroundings are beautiful around Slot Zuylen and besides the beautiful castle, there is also a lot of greenery, water, and even meadows with cows where super cool wedding photos can be captured.
Upon returning, Bistro Belle is already filled with all the guests for the party, and Pim and Renate kick off the evening with a fantastic first dance. I capture a few hours of the party and leave everyone with full beer glasses.
Thanks for trusting me to capture this wedding for you, Pim and Renate!
