It promises to be a beautiful two days, and after waking up in my peaceful Airbnb nearby, I arrive at De Havixhorst where I meet Jan, who has just finished a run. Ingrid is chatting with the florist who is providing the flowers for the day, and the atmosphere already feels incredibly relaxed.
Jan and Ingrid are getting ready in two beautiful hotel rooms at De Havixhorst that are directly connected to each other. This is very practical for me too because I can move freely between the two rooms and capture all the small moments that are so important to tell their story. Jan has a beautiful gift for Ingrid and after getting ready, he and his best friends go to the cellar to drink some whiskey and calm their nerves. In the meantime, Ingrid is busy with her dress, and once everyone is ready, it's time for the first look.
Jan and Ingrid wanted to do the first look in the doorways facing each other. A great idea!! And after they've admired each other for a moment, their parents also get the chance to see them before the ceremony begins.
After all the guests have arrived and everyone is ready to begin, Ingrid is escorted by her father to her groom. A beautiful emotional ceremony follows, where not only laughter but also tears are shed. After the "I do" and a spectacular kiss among the guests, I take the newlyweds to take wedding portraits around De Havixhorst. With the beautiful gardens, a greenhouse, and the magnificent mansion itself, this is a stunning location to take photos. Moreover, we don't have to spend hours and hours, and we're back to celebrate the love in just 45 minutes.
The rest of the day is incredibly relaxed. Only the reception and dinner are left on the schedule, where guests and family also have the opportunity to share some kind words with the newlyweds. The parents have of course made a beautiful slideshow with pictures from the past, and during dinner, family and friends eloquently express why Jan and Ingrid mean so much to them.I leave the newlyweds alone for the rest of the day and go to bed early after this long day to be fresh and ready to capture the next day.
The next day, a spectacular party at De Lindenhorst is on the schedule. This is a slightly less luxurious mansion that can be rented for parties and is ideal to stylishly end Jan and Ingrid's wedding weekend. Many more people are invited to the party who will also be staying overnight.
Jan and Ingrid arrive in style in their Volkswagen van, and after a toast and a few hours of relaxation, I take them out for a brief photo shoot in the surrounding area. When they return, there is still time for speeches from friends, and eventually, the dancing begins.
Jan and Ingrid, you've made an incredible wedding weekend. Thank you so much for letting me be a part of it!!!
