For this wedding in the centre of Amsterdam, I start my day at the end of the Amstel, at Christ Church to be precise. This Friday in October is surprisingly warm for the time of year, so perfect for Diana and Ewoud's wedding.
After all the guests have arrived, the ceremony starts in the church. After a lot of inspiring words from the priest, a kiss and a blessing, Diana and Ewoud are married and they have time to relax with their guest in the courtyard of the church. The wedding cake is cut and there is a lot of laughter during this wedding. Traditional moments such as throwing the wedding bouquet should of course be part of this wedding and after a few hours of relaxation, the guests leave for the Amstel Boathouse where the wedding dinner will take place.
I am going into the center of Amsterdam with Diana Ewoud to take wedding photos. We walk along the Amstel, over the Walter Suskindbrug towards the Magere Brug. The Amstel hotel is a bit too far to walk, but the roads along the Amstel, the beautiful canals in the side streets and the fantastic weather, despite the busy streets, provide for a beautiful and relaxed photo shoot.
After the wedding photo shoot in the centre of Amsterdam we continue our way to the Amstel Boathouse, where the wedding dinner will take place. I stay a while longer to capture some speeches from family and friends. After an hour this short wedding is over for me and I leave everyone behind, knowing that they will enjoy this beautiful wedding along the Amstel for a long time to come.
Thank you Diana and Ewoud, for allowing me to capture such a personal experience for you!
